VMware vSphere 6.7 Update 3

VMware has release vSphere 6.7 Update 3 today, the new update has new features and improvements. This is quick review about new features.

First you can assign multiple NVIDIA vGPU to each virtual machine, multiple vGPU up to four! You need to NVIDIA GRID.

This is AMAZING! vSphere 6.7 Update 3 supports new generation of AMD EPYC CPU. Last time that I had server with AMD CPU was at least 6 years ago. We miss you man, welcome back.

There are some enhancements for VMXNET3, Guest encapsulation offload and UDP, and ESP RSS support to the Enhanced Networking Stack (ENS). Checksum calculations are offloaded from encapsulated packets to the virtual device emulation and you can run RSS on UDP and ESP packets on demand.

Say hello to new drivers, vSphere 6.7 U3 will ship updated drivers, the list of drivers should be in release note (I wouldn’t find yet) and also this blog post: https://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2019/08/announcing-vsphere-6-7-update-3.html
